Willamar was a small community in Willacy County, Texas, United States. It was once called a "census-designated place" (CDP). This means it was an area identified by the government for counting people, but it wasn't an official city or town.
Willamar was started in 1921. It got its name from its founders, Will Harding and Lamar Gill. In the year 2000, only 15 people lived there. The government stopped counting Willamar as a CDP before the 2010 census.
