William Allestry (1588 – 4 September 1655) was an English politician. He was a member of the House of Commons of England from 1640 to 1643. During the English Civil War, he supported the King's side, known as the Royalists.

Who Was William Allestry?
William Allestry was born in 1588. He came from the Allestry family of Alvaston. His father was George Allestry. William grew up to become a legal official, known as the recorder, for the town of Derby.
His Time in Parliament
In April 1640, William Allestry was chosen to be a Member of Parliament for Derby. This was for a short period of time known as the Short Parliament.
The Short and Long Parliaments
Later that same year, in November 1640, he was chosen again. This time, he served in the Long Parliament. He continued to be a Member of Parliament until October 1643. At that time, he was no longer allowed to hold his seat.
Later Years and Family
William Allestry passed away when he was 67 years old. He was buried in the church of All Saint's, Derby.
He was married twice. His first wife was Sarah Smith, whom he married in 1629. She died in 1638. Later, he married Mary Agard. William Allestry had three sons and four daughters with each of his wives.
