William Franklin Guest (born July 2, 1941 – died December 24, 2015) was a talented American singer. He was famous for being a key member of the music group Gladys Knight & the Pips. He sang with his cousins Gladys Knight, Merald "Bubba" Knight, and Edward Patten. William Guest was part of this group for a long time, from 1952 to 1989. He won several Grammy Awards and was added to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with his group in 1996.
William Guest's Early Life
William Guest was born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1941. He was one of the first members of Gladys Knight & the Pips. He joined the group with his sister Eleanor Guest and his cousins Brenda, Gladys, and Merald "Bubba" Knight.
His Music Career
William Guest sometimes sang lead vocals on songs during the group's long career. One of these songs was "Maybe Maybe Baby" from 1964. He also sang "Window Raisin' Granny" from their popular 1973 album, Imagination. This song was later used by other famous artists like LL Cool J and Christina Aguilera.
After his time with The Pips, William Guest and Edward Patten started a company together. It was called Patten and Guest Productions. After Edward Patten passed away in 2005, William continued to help other artists. He formed a new company called Crew Entertainment.
Later Life and Passing
William Guest lived in Detroit, Michigan, for 50 years. He passed away there on December 24, 2015. He was 74 years old.

William Guest was honored for his amazing music career. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. This was a big achievement for him and Gladys Knight & the Pips.
