William Rogers McIntyre (March 15, 1918 – June 14, 2009) was a very important Canadian judge. He was a Puisne Justice on the Supreme Court of Canada. This is the highest court in Canada, where big legal decisions are made.

William McIntyre's Life
Early Years and School
William McIntyre was born in Lachine, Quebec, in 1918. When he was a child, his family moved to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He went to the University of Saskatchewan. In 1939, he earned a degree in arts.
Serving His Country
During World War II, William McIntyre served in the military. After the war, he went back to school. In 1946, he earned his law degree from the University of Saskatchewan.
Becoming a Lawyer and Judge
In 1947, William McIntyre became a lawyer. He was allowed to practice law in both Saskatchewan and British Columbia. He chose to practice law in Victoria, British Columbia.
He became a judge in 1967, joining the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Later, in 1973, he was promoted to the British Columbia Court of Appeal.
Supreme Court of Canada
In 1979, William McIntyre was appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada. This was a very important role. He served on the Supreme Court until he retired in 1989.
In 1991, he received a special honour. He was made a Companion of the Order of Canada. This is one of Canada's highest awards for people who have made a big difference.
Later Life
William McIntyre passed away in Victoria, British Columbia, on June 14, 2009. He was 91 years old.
