Some of his paintings were so popular that they were turned into engravings by another artist named Ridley. These engravings, including portraits of the writer Morton and actresses Mrs. Twisleton and Mrs. Wells, were featured in a magazine called the Monthly Mirror.
William Naish also had a brother, John Naish, who was also a miniature painter. John showed his own artwork in London in 1790 and 1795.
