William Prather Curlin Jr. (born November 30, 1933 – died December 12, 2022) was an American politician and lawyer. He came from the state of Kentucky. Mr. Curlin served as a member of the United States House of Representatives. This is a part of the U.S. Congress.

Early Life and Education
William P. Curlin Jr. was born in Paducah, Kentucky. He grew up and went to Frankfort High School. After high school, he attended the University of Kentucky. He earned two degrees from the university. He received an A.B. degree in 1958 and a law degree (LL.B.) in 1962.
Military Service
Before becoming a lawyer, Mr. Curlin served in the United States Army. He was a soldier from 1955 to 1957.
Career as a Lawyer
After finishing his education and military service, William Curlin became a lawyer. He worked in his own private law practice. He also worked for the Kentucky government. From 1962 to 1964, he was an attorney for the Kentucky Department of Revenue. He also served as an assistant commissioner there.
Political Career
Mr. Curlin was involved in politics in Kentucky. He was a member of the Kentucky General Assembly. This is Kentucky's state legislature. He served in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 1968 to 1971.
Role in the Kentucky House
While in the Kentucky House, he held an important position. During the 1970 session, he was the chairman of the Appropriations and Revenue Committee. This committee handles money matters for the state.
Serving in Congress
William Curlin was a member of the Democratic Party. He was elected to the United States House of Representatives in a special election. This election was held to fill a spot after the death of John C. Watts. Mr. Curlin served in the U.S. Congress from December 4, 1971, to January 3, 1973. He decided not to run for reelection in 1972. After his time in Congress, he went back to working as a private lawyer.
Later Life
William Curlin lived in Versailles, Kentucky. He passed away on December 12, 2022.
