Williamsport is a small community in Ohio, United States. It is an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. You can find Williamsport in the northwestern part of Madison Township, within Columbiana County.
A Look Back: Williamsport's History
Williamsport was first planned out in 1835. A man named William Crawford created the layout for the community. He decided to name the place Williamsport after himself. For a while, Williamsport was also known by a different name, which was Park. A post office called Park opened in 1890. It served the community until it closed down in 1902.
Learning and Nature in Williamsport
Williamsport is home to the Beaver Local School District. This school district serves the students living in and around Williamsport. It provides education from elementary grades up through high school. Right in the middle of the community, you can also see where the Little Beaver Creek begins. This is where different streams come together to form the creek.
