Wilmot's Early Days
Wilmot started to grow in 1848 when a sawmill was built there. A sawmill is a place where logs are cut into lumber. This was an important business for the community.
In 1850, a post office opened in Wilmot. This made it easier for people to send and receive mail. The post office served the community for many years. It finally closed down in 1911.
