About Wilsall
Wilsall got its name from two people: Will Jordan and his wife, Sally. Will Jordan was part of a cattle ranching company called Jordan-Robertson Company.
The Northern Pacific Railway train line reached Wilsall in December 1909. A year later, in 1910, the town's post office opened.

Wilsall is located in the middle of Montana. It is about 29 miles (46 kilometers) northeast of Bozeman. It is also about 78 miles (125 kilometers) east-southeast of Helena. Billings is about 105 miles (169 kilometers) to the west.
The community covers an area of about 1.12 square miles (2.90 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
