Wilson Island is a small island found in the South Saskatchewan River in Canada. It is located south of the city of Saskatoon, in the province of Saskatchewan. This island is a special place because it is protected by the Meewasin Valley Authority.

Even though you cannot visit the island directly, you can still see it. There is a special viewing spot at Cranberry Flats where you can look out and see Wilson Island from a distance.

Shepley Island's Past

From 1943 to 1951, Wilson Island was called Shepley Island. During this time, it was used for an important purpose. The island was home to a sea cadet camp.

A sea cadet camp is a place where young people learn about naval traditions and skills. These camps help cadets develop leadership and teamwork abilities. The camp on Shepley Island was led by Lieutenant P.K. Wilton.
