Willem "Wim" Woudsma (born August 11, 1957 – died May 23, 2019) was a Dutch football player. He was best known for playing as a defender. A defender is a player whose main job is to stop the other team from scoring goals.
Wim Woudsma was born in Nijverdal, a town in the Overijssel province of the Netherlands. He played most of his professional football career in the Netherlands.

Wim Woudsma's Football Journey
Playing for Go Ahead Eagles
Wim Woudsma started his professional career in 1976. He joined the football club Go Ahead Eagles. He played for them for a very long time, from 1976 until 1989.
During his time with Go Ahead Eagles, he played in many important matches. He played in both the Eredivisie (the top Dutch football league) and the Eerste Divisie (the second-highest league). Wim Woudsma played a total of 430 competitive matches for Go Ahead Eagles. This makes him the player with the second-highest number of matches for the club!
Later Career and Coaching
After many years with Go Ahead Eagles, Wim Woudsma moved to another club. For his final season as a professional player, in 1989–1990, he played for N.E.C.. He played for N.E.C. in the Eredivisie.
After he stopped playing professional football, Wim Woudsma continued to be involved in the sport. He became a coach for amateur football teams. He also worked as a youth coach back at his old club, Go Ahead Eagles. This meant he helped train young, upcoming football players.
His Final Years
Wim Woudsma passed away on May 23, 2019. He was 61 years old. He died in his hometown of Nijverdal after being sick for a period of time.
