Wings Over Miami is a super cool museum where you can see amazing airplanes that have played a big part in history. It's located at Miami Executive Airport in Miami-Dade County, Florida, USA. A Look Back: How the Museum Started
This museum was created to replace another one called the Weeks Air Museum. The Weeks Air Museum used to be at the same airport. But in 1992, a very strong storm called Hurricane Andrew hit. It badly damaged the museum's building and almost all of its airplanes. Because of this, the Weeks Air Museum had to move to a different place in Florida.
Bringing Aviation History Back to Miami
After the Weeks collection left, there was a gap in Miami for aviation history. In 2001, four friends who loved military and classic planes decided to do something about it. Their names were Walter Orth, Larry Ploucha, Vincent Tirado, and Tom Righetti. They wanted to create a new museum in the same spot.

From the very beginning, the founders agreed on something important. Wings Over Miami would be a "flying museum." This means that the airplanes in their collection would be kept in working order. They would even be flown regularly! This makes the museum a lively place where you can see history in action.
