Winifred Phillips is a super talented American composer and author. She creates amazing music for video games like God of War, Assassin's Creed III: Liberation, and the fun LittleBigPlanet games. Early Life and Music

Winifred Phillips loved music from a young age. Her school music classes were her favorite. In middle school, her band teacher noticed she learned quickly. He often gave her new instruments to try when there was an open spot in the band. She learned to play many instruments and different types of music. She became skilled in playing keyboard and singing.

Winifred was also a big gamer when she was a kid. She played all kinds of games, from action-packed shooters to huge role-playing games (RPGs). But she didn't realize she could make music for games until she worked in radio.

Her Amazing Career

Starting in Radio

From 1992 to 2003, Winifred Phillips worked on radio dramas. She was the composer, producer, and even an actress! These shows were called Generations Radio Theater Presents. They later became Generations Radio Theater Presents: Radio Tales. This series told stories from classic books. It even got money from the National Endowment for the Arts. People at NPR said the shows had "top-to-bottom music score that is completely original." The Radio Tales series was also heard on Sirius XM Book Radio.

Composing for Video Games

In 2004, Phillips made music for her first video game, God of War. Since then, she has composed music for more than 20 video games! Some of her well-known games include the LittleBigPlanet series, SimAnimals, and Assassin's Creed III: Liberation. Her music helps make these games exciting and fun to play.

Winifred Phillips also wrote a book called A Composer’s Guide to Game Music. It was published in 2014 by the MIT Press. This book teaches people how to create music for video games.
