The Wise River is a river in Montana, a state in the United States. It flows into the Big Hole River. The Wise River is about 30 miles (48 kilometers) long.
It starts high up in the Pioneer Mountains. These mountains are part of the Beaverhead National Forest in Beaverhead County. The river flows northwest through the mountains. It joins the Big Hole River near the town of Wise River. Long ago, some people also called this river Elkhorn Creek.
Fishing and Fun
Many people love to visit the Wise River for fly fishing. This is a special way of fishing using a fake bug, called a fly, to catch fish. The river is known for its good fishing spots.
