Woburn is a suburb located in Lower Hutt, Wellington, which is at the bottom of New Zealand's North Island. It is a friendly place where many people live and work.
The area was first farmed in the 1840s by Henry Petre. He named it Woburn after a famous estate called Woburn Abbey in England. Later, Daniel and Harriet Riddiford took over the farm. Their family eventually built a large house there. Over time, the land was divided into smaller sections, creating the suburb we know today. A street in Lower Hutt, Riddiford Street, is named to remember them.
