Wolf Creek is a small, unincorporated community in Montana, United States. It's located in Lewis and Clark County, right next to Interstate 15. Wolf Creek is about 28 miles (45 km) north of Helena, the state capital. The community gets its name from a nearby creek. Its postal code is 59648.

The History of Wolf Creek

Wolf Creek started to grow in 1887. This was when the Montana Central Railway built its train tracks through the narrow Prickly Pear Canyon. The town was created to support the railroad workers and their needs.

Later, from 1908 to 1910, Wolf Creek also served as a home for workers building the Holter Dam. This dam is an important part of the area's history. When Interstate 15 was built, it went right through the middle of the town. This construction changed Wolf Creek a lot.
