Wolfgang Feiersinger (born on January 30, 1965) is a former Austrian professional footballer. He was a strong defender, known for his solid play on the field.

Wolfgang Feiersinger's Club Journey
Wolfgang started his football journey in 1986 with a team called Austria Salzburg. He played there for ten years! During his time, the club had a very successful period. They won two league titles, which means they were the best team in Austria twice.
In 1994, Wolfgang and Austria Salzburg even reached the final of a big European competition called the UEFA Cup. They played against Inter Milan from Italy.
Playing for Borussia Dortmund
In the 1996–97 season, Wolfgang moved to Germany. He joined a famous German team, Borussia Dortmund. Right away, he helped them win the biggest club competition in Europe: the UEFA Champions League!
He played in both semi-final matches against Manchester United. However, he could not play in the final game. Another player, Matthias Sammer, returned from an injury and took his spot. Later that year, Wolfgang also won the Intercontinental Cup with Dortmund. This was another major international trophy.
Returning to Austria
In 2000, Wolfgang came back to Austria. He signed with LASK Linz. After just one season there, he moved back to Salzburg to play for Austria Salzburg again.
He played one more season with Austria Salzburg. Then, he finished his career with a smaller team called PSV SW Salzburg.
Wolfgang's International Career
Wolfgang Feiersinger also played for his country, Austria. He made his first appearance in August 1990. This was in a friendly match against Switzerland.
He played a total of 46 games for the Austrian national team. He was also part of the Austrian team that played in the 1998 FIFA World Cup. This is one of the biggest football tournaments in the world! Wolfgang played in all three of Austria's matches at that World Cup. He also played in 15 World Cup qualification games. His last international game was in April 1999. It was a European Championship qualification match against San Marino.
Family Life
Wolfgang Feiersinger has a daughter named Laura Feiersinger. She is also a professional football player! She plays for AS Roma and for the Austria women's national football team.
