Wondress Hutchinson (born June 20, 1964 – died May 1, 2021) was an American singer. She was known simply as Wondress. She sang different kinds of music, like electronic dance music (EDM) and jazz fusion. Wondress was especially famous for working with the old school hip hop and electro funk group called Mantronix.

Who Was Wondress?

Wondress Hutchinson was a talented singer from the United States. She became well-known for her powerful voice. She sang many types of music, showing how versatile she was. Her career spanned several decades, and she worked with different artists.

Singing with Mantronix

One of Wondress's biggest achievements was her work with the group Mantronix. She was the lead singer on two of their most popular songs. These songs were "Got to Have Your Love" and "Take Your Time." Both songs were big hits in the UK, reaching the top 10 on the music charts. They were part of Mantronix's 1990 album, This Should Move Ya. Her voice helped make these songs very successful.

Other Music Projects

Wondress also lent her voice to other music projects. In 1995, she sang background vocals for the jazz fusion band Spyro Gyra. This was for their album Love and Other Obsessions.

Later, in the early 2000s, Wondress worked with DJ Spen. He was a house music artist from Baltimore. She sang both lead and background vocals for his Solid Ground EP in 2001. She also sang for the gospel music and house music group, Jasper Street Co.. This was for their album Interpretations (The Remix Collection) in 2003. Wondress's work showed her love for many music styles.
