Woodford is found in the eastern part of Lafayette County, Wisconsin. It sits in a valley next to the East Branch Pecatonica River. This river is an important natural feature of the area.
The community is about 7 miles (11 km) by road south of Argyle. It is also about 15 miles (24 km) east of Darlington. Darlington is important because it is the main town, or county seat, for Lafayette County.
