The Story of Worland
Worland was officially planned and mapped out in 1888. This process, called platting, creates a map showing streets and property lines. The community was named after a man named Harry Worland. He owned and ran a local pharmacy in the area.
Before the community was even planned, a post office opened in Worland in 1887. This post office helped people send and receive mail for many years. It stayed open until 1952, when it finally closed down.
