Xu Xiaofei's Football Journey
Playing in Japan
When Xu Xiaofei was just 10 years old, he moved from his hometown in China to Japan with his mother. He continued to live and study sports there. After finishing university, he started his football career.
His first professional team was Consadole Sapporo in 2005. This team played in Japan's second-highest league. He then moved to Kamatamare Sanuki, a team in a lower league, where he got to play more often.
His good performance caught the attention of other teams. He later played for Gainare Tottori and Mitsubishi Mizushima FC. Even though he played for these teams, he didn't find a lot of success with them.
Returning to China
Xu Xiaofei decided to return to China in 2009. He joined his local team, Henan Construction, which played in the top Chinese league.
However, after the 2009 season, a medical check-up showed he had a heart condition. Because of this health issue, he decided to stop playing professional football. He announced his retirement on his blog.
