Club Career
Yangel started his football journey at Monagas SC. Then, in 2016, he moved to another team called Atlético Venezuela.
Playing for Manchester City
On January 31, 2017, Yangel signed with Manchester City. This is a very famous club in England.
Loan to New York City
Right after joining Manchester City, Yangel was sent to New York City on a two-year loan. A loan means he played for New York City for a while, but he was still officially a Manchester City player. He played his first game on March 12, helping his team win 4–0 against D.C. United.
Loan to Huesca
After his time in New York, Yangel went on loan again. This time, he joined Huesca in Spain for six months during the 2018–19 season.
Loan to Granada
On July 26, 2019, Yangel was loaned to Granada for the 2019–20 season. He did so well that his loan was extended for another year, covering the 2020–21 season.
Loan to Espanyol
On August 31, 2021, Yangel moved to another Spanish team, Espanyol, for a one-year loan.
Joining Girona
On August 2, 2022, Yangel joined Girona, a team that had just been promoted to La Liga. He played his first game for Girona on the very first day of the 2022–23 season. On January 7, 2023, he scored his first goal for Girona, which was an exciting goal that made the game a 2–2 tie against his old team, Espanyol.
Yangel's time at Girona was a success! On July 14, 2023, he officially signed a four-year contract with the club. This meant he was no longer on loan and became a permanent player for Girona.
International Career
Yangel first played for the Venezuela national team on October 10, 2016. He came into the game as a substitute in a match against Brazil.
He was chosen to be the captain of the Venezuela U20 team for the 2017 U-20 World Cup. This is a big tournament for young players from all over the world. Yangel scored an important goal in the Round of 16 game against Japan, which helped his team win.
