The company started in 1932. Its main office is in Searcy, Arkansas, in the United States. Yarnell's also has 11 other locations in three states. For a long time, it was the only company making ice cream in Arkansas. Yarnell's is very popular and competes with big brands like Texas-based Blue Bell Creameries.

How Yarnell's Began
Yarnell Ice Cream Company started making ice cream in 1932. It has always been a private company. This means it is owned by a smaller group of people. The company's main office is in Searcy, Arkansas.
The Angel Food Brand
A company called Klinke Brothers Ice Cream Company in Memphis, Tennessee used to make "Angel Food" ice cream. This ice cream was special because it was not slushy like other ice creams back then. In 2006, Klinke Brothers stopped making it. They let Yarnell's make the Angel Food brand instead. The Memphis Business Journal said that Angel Food was a top seller in Tennessee, Mississippi, and southwest Kentucky. Klinke Brothers then focused more on its Baskin Robbins ice cream shops.
Changes and New Beginnings
Yarnell Ice Cream Co. stopped making ice cream on June 30, 2011. Later that year, a company from Chicago bought Yarnell's. This company was called Schulze & Burch Biscuit Co. They bought everything, including the recipes and buildings. This happened in November 2011. Yarnell's started making ice cream again in April 2012 under its new owners. Mitchell Evans is the Vice President of Operations.
In June 2020, another company called Turkey Hill made a deal. Turkey Hill is from Pennsylvania. They agreed to buy Yarnell's production factory in Searcy. Turkey Hill plans to make its own products there. But they will also keep making Yarnell-branded ice cream products.
