Yashwant Vithoba Chittal (born August 3, 1928 – died March 22, 2014) was a famous Indian writer. He wrote many stories and novels in the Kannada language. A well-known critic, G. S. Amur, said that Chittal's short stories were amazing. He also mentioned that Chittal was unique in how he played with language and writing styles.

About Yashwant Vithoba Chittal

Yashwant Vithoba Chittal was born in a village called Hanehalli in the Uttar Kannada District of India. He went to primary school in his village. Later, he finished high school at Gibbs High School, Kumta in 1944.

His Education and Career

Chittal studied science at Bombay University. He was a top student and won a gold medal in 1955. He also earned a master's degree in chemical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in the United States.

While studying, he also worked in science and technology. He made important contributions to the field of Polymer Science and synthetic resins. Because of his work, he was chosen as a Fellow of the Plastics and Rubber Institute in London.
