Yasuhiro Hato (born 4 May 1976) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender for several top clubs in Japan. He also represented the Japan national team.

Club Career Highlights
Yasuhiro Hato was born in Minamiawaji, Japan, on May 4, 1976. After finishing high school, he started his professional football journey in 1995.
Starting with Yokohama Flügels
Hato joined Yokohama Flügels in 1995. He mostly played as a right midfielder. Over time, he got more chances to play in games. In 1998, his team won the Emperor's Cup, a major football competition in Japan. Sadly, the club had money problems and closed down at the end of 1998.
Moving to Yokohama F. Marinos
After Yokohama Flügels closed, Hato moved to Yokohama F. Marinos in 1999. Here, he played as a right-sided defender and sometimes as a central defender. This was a very successful time for him. His team won the J.League Cup in 2001. They also won the J1 League championship in 2003.
Playing for Kashiwa Reysol and Omiya Ardija
In April 2004, Hato joined Kashiwa Reysol. However, his team was moved down to the second division, J2 League, in 2005. After that, he moved to Omiya Ardija in 2006. He played for Omiya Ardija for four seasons.
Returning to Yokohama F. Marinos and Retirement
Yasuhiro Hato returned to Yokohama F. Marinos in 2010. He played for two more seasons before deciding to retire from professional football at the end of the 2011 season. Throughout his club career, he played in 358 league games and scored 2 goals.
National Team Career
Yasuhiro Hato also had the honor of playing for his country, the Japan national team.
First Game for Japan
He played his first game for Japan on April 25, 2001, against Spain. After his first game, he played as a right midfielder in many matches. This included playing in the Confederations Cup in 2001.
Later Years with the National Team
In 2002, he started getting fewer chances to play for the national team. He was not chosen to play for Japan in the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Overall, Yasuhiro Hato played 15 games for Japan between 2001 and 2002.
