Yasuo Haruyama (春山 泰雄, April 4, 1906 – June 17, 1987) was a Japanese football (soccer) player. He played as a forward and was known for his skills on the field. Haruyama represented his country, Japan, in several important matches during his career.

Playing Club Football
Yasuo Haruyama was born in Tokyo on April 4, 1906. He played for a team called Tokyo Imperial University LB. This team was made up of players who were students or had graduated from his university, the University of Tokyo.
Playing for Japan
Haruyama was chosen to play for the Japan national football team in August 1927. At that time, he was still a student at Mito High School.
He played in the Football at the 1927 Far Eastern Championship Games in Shanghai. On August 27, he played his first game for Japan against the team from the Republic of China (now Chinese Taipei).
Two days later, on August 29, he played against the Philippines. Japan won this match, which was a very special moment. It was the Japan national team's first-ever victory in an official international game!
Haruyama also played in the Football at the 1930 Far Eastern Championship Games held in Tokyo. Japan won the championship that year. He played a total of 4 games for Japan until 1930.
After His Football Career
After he stopped playing football, Yasuo Haruyama started a new career. In 1946, he joined a company called Nikkan Sports.
Yasuo Haruyama passed away on June 17, 1987, in Toshima, Tokyo. He was 81 years old and died from a health issue related to his digestive system.
