Early Career at Honda FC

Yasuto Honda was born in Kitakyushu, Japan. After finishing high school, he started his professional football journey. In 1988, he joined a club called Honda. He played for them in the Japan Soccer League.

Success with Kashima Antlers

In 1992, Honda moved to Kashima Antlers, a team in the top Japanese league, J1 League. This was a big step in his career. He became a key player for the Antlers.

During his time with Kashima Antlers, the team achieved great success. They won the J1 League championship four times. They also lifted the J.League Cup three times. Additionally, they won the Emperor's Cup twice. Honda was a part of these winning teams. He played for Kashima Antlers until the end of the 2006 season. Across both clubs, he played 400 league games and scored 6 goals.

Playing for Japan

Joining the National Team

Yasuto Honda also played for his country, Japan. He made his first appearance for the Japan national team on October 24, 1995. His debut match was against Saudi Arabia.

International Tournaments

In 1996, Honda played in all of Japan's matches. This included the 1996 Asian Cup, a major tournament for Asian teams. In 1997, he also took part in the qualification games for the 1998 World Cup. By the end of 1997, he had played 29 games for Japan and scored 1 goal.
