Playing Career: Yasutoshi Miura's Football Journey

Yasutoshi Miura started his football journey in Shizuoka, Japan. After finishing high school, he joined the Brazilian club Santos. In 1986, he moved back to Japan to play for Yomiuri, which later became Verdy Kawasaki.

Success with Yomiuri and Verdy Kawasaki

With Yomiuri, Miura helped the team win the Japan Soccer League championship three times. They also won the JSL Cup once and the Emperor's Cup twice. In Asia, the club won the 1987 Asian Club Championship, showing they were one of the best teams around!

Playing for Shimizu S-Pulse

In 1992, Miura moved to a new club called Shimizu S-Pulse. This team was based in his hometown of Shizuoka. He played there for several years.

Return to Verdy Kawasaki and Retirement

In 1996, he went back to Verdy Kawasaki. The team won the 1996 Emperor's Cup that year. As time went on, he played less often, so he moved to Avispa Fukuoka in 1999. He was a regular player there. In 2001, Avispa Fukuoka was moved down to a lower league, the J2 League. Miura then joined Vissel Kobe in 2002 and retired from playing football in 2003 at 38 years old.

National Team: Playing for Japan

In October 1993, Yasutoshi Miura was chosen to play for the Japan national team. His first game was on October 4, 1993, against Ivory Coast. He played as a left-back because the usual player was injured. Miura also played in the 1994 World Cup qualification matches. He played a total of 3 games for Japan in 1993.

Coaching Career: Leading Teams to Victory

After he stopped playing, Miura became a football manager.

Managing Giravanz Kitakyushu

In 2011, he became the manager for J2 League club Giravanz Kitakyushu. The team had finished last in the 2010 season. But with Miura as manager, they improved a lot, finishing 8th in 2011 and 9th in 2012!

Coaching Tokyo Verdy and Chiangmai

In 2013, he moved to Tokyo Verdy, a club where he had played for a long time. However, the team didn't do very well, and Miura was let go in September 2014. In 2015, he went to Thailand to manage Chiangmai, but he was released from his role in July due to poor results.

Success with Kagoshima United FC

In 2016, he managed J3 League club Kataller Toyama. Then, in 2017, he moved to Kagoshima United FC. In 2018, he led Kagoshima United FC to finish 2nd in the league. This was a huge achievement because it meant the club was promoted to the J2 League for the first time ever! He left the club at the end of 2018.
