Yazmeen Alexis Jamieson, born on March 17, 1998, is a talented soccer player. She plays as a goalkeeper for Guelph United FC in League1 Ontario. Even though she was born in Canada, she plays for the national team of Jamaica.

Growing Up and Starting Soccer
Yazmeen's father is from Jamaica, and her mother is from Grenada. She started playing soccer when she was just six years old! She went to Bayview Glen School and even won an award for being an amazing athlete. As a young player, she played for teams like Toronto Eagles SC and Unionville Milliken SC. In 2017, she received an award from the Grenada Association of Toronto.
College Soccer Journey
Yazmeen played soccer for Carleton University from 2016 to 2018. In 2019, she decided to play professionally overseas in New Zealand. This helped her chances of being chosen for the Jamaican national team for the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup.
In 2024, she started attending George Brown College. She played for their women's soccer team. She had a great first game on September 6, where she didn't let the other team score any goals. By the end of the 2024 season, she was named a top player in her division.
Professional Club Career
Early Club Experiences
In 2019, Yazmeen joined a New Zealand club called Papakura City. This was her first time playing for a senior team.
In 2021, Yazmeen signed a short contract with a Swedish club, P18 IK. She played in most of their games and helped her team reach the final playoffs. They won the final match, which meant they moved up to a higher division in Sweden!
Playing in Canada and France
In 2022, she joined a Canadian team, Simcoe County Rovers, in League1 Ontario. She was recognized as one of the league's best players that year.
In September 2022, Yazmeen moved to France to play for GPSO 92 Issy in their second division.
In 2023, she returned to Simcoe County Rovers FC. On July 12, she even scored a goal from a penalty kick in a big 7-0 win!
Recent Club Moves
In 2024, she signed with Albanian Women's National Championship club KFF Vllaznia Shkodër.
In 2025, she joined Guelph United FC, another team in League1 Ontario.
Playing for Her Country
Starting with Youth Teams
In 2013, when Yazmeen was just 15, she visited Jamaica with her youth soccer team. The Jamaican women's soccer director found out about her Jamaican family background. He arranged for her to try out for the Jamaican Under-20 team. Soon after, she was chosen for the Jamaican Under-17 team for a World Cup qualifier. However, she couldn't get her Jamaican citizenship and passport in time, so she couldn't join the team then.
In November 2017, she played her first game for the Jamaica U20 team. She was later chosen for the team that played in the 2018 CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship.
Joining the Senior National Team
In 2018, Yazmeen was chosen for the Jamaica senior national team for the very first time.
