What Was Yey! All About?
Yey! was a special channel created by ABS-CBN Corporation, a big media company in the Philippines. Its main goal was to entertain and educate young viewers. The channel's slogan was Bida Best Everyday!, which means "Be the Best Everyday!" This slogan encouraged kids to always do their best.
How Yey! Started
Yey! first started broadcasting in 2011. It became more widely available in 2015 when it was included in ABS-CBN TV Plus. This was a special digital TV box that allowed more families to watch the channel easily. It quickly became a favorite for many young viewers across the country.
Shows You Could Watch on Yey!
Yey! offered a wide variety of programs that appealed to kids aged 12-15. It was a great place to watch popular animated shows from other countries, especially anime from Japan. The channel also showed local Filipino cartoons and educational programs. These shows helped kids learn new things while having fun.
Why Yey! Stopped Broadcasting
Sadly, Yey! stopped broadcasting on June 30, 2020. This happened because the company that owned Yey!, ABS-CBN, had a special permission from the government to broadcast. This permission is called a "franchise." When this franchise ended, ABS-CBN could no longer broadcast its channels, including Yey!. Even though it closed, many kids still remember Yey! as a channel that brought them lots of joy and entertainment.
