Yit Foh Coffee Factory Sdn Bhd, also known as Yit Foh Tenom Coffee, is a major coffee maker in Sabah, Malaysia. It has been producing coffee since 1960. Mr. Yong Loong Vun started the company in a place called Kg. Chinta Mata in the Tenom area. It is the oldest coffee company in Sabah. The company is officially owned by Yit Foh Coffee Factory Sdn Bhd and has a special halal certification. This means its products are prepared according to Islamic law.
History of Yit Foh Coffee
Yit Foh Coffee Factory is one of the companies that makes Tenom coffee, also known as Kopi Tenom. It is recognized as the oldest coffee business in the area, operating since 1960. Mr. Yong Loong Vun founded the company in Kampung Chinta Mata, which is part of the Tenom District.
Even today, the company makes its coffee grounds in a traditional way. They roast the coffee beans over a wood fire. This special method helps to bring out the true, rich smell and taste of the coffee.
Later, Alex Yong took over the family business. In 1993, a new factory was opened to help the company grow. Yit Foh Coffee now plans to sell its coffee all around the world. Another coffee company from the same district, Fatt Choi Tenom Coffee, started in 1986.
