Rabbi Yitzchok Scheiner (born November 5, 1922 – died January 31, 2021) was a very important Jewish leader. He was an Israeli-American rabbi who served as the rosh yeshiva (head of a Jewish school) of the Kamenitz yeshiva in Jerusalem.

Early Life and Learning
Rabbi Scheiner was born in May 1922 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the United States. His parents had moved there from Poland. He finished high school in 1938.
His Studies
In the 1940s, he went to special Jewish schools called yeshivas. He studied at Yeshiva College and Yeshiva Torah Vodaas. There, he learned from a famous rabbi named Rabbi Shlomo Heiman.
His Career as a Rabbi
In the 1960s, Rabbi Scheiner taught at a yeshiva in Montreux, Switzerland.
Leading the Yeshiva
Later, he became a leader at the Kamenitz yeshiva in Jerusalem. He took on this role after his father-in-law, who was the previous head of the yeshiva, passed away. Rabbi Scheiner worked alongside his brother-in-law to lead the school.
After his brother-in-law died in 1998, Rabbi Scheiner became the main rosh yeshiva. His brother-in-law's son helped him lead. Today, Rabbi Scheiner's two sons and his son-in-law also teach at the yeshiva.
Important Leadership Role
In the 1990s, Rabbi Scheiner joined a very important group called the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah. This group is made up of leading rabbis who guide the Jewish community.
Personal Life
In the late 1940s, Rabbi Scheiner married. His wife was the granddaughter of another famous rabbi, Rabbi Boruch Ber Leibowitz. Sadly, his wife passed away in 2007. Rabbi Scheiner lived in a neighborhood in Jerusalem called Kerem Avraham.
His Passing
Rabbi Scheiner passed away on January 31, 2021, when he was 98 years old. He died from COVID-19 during the worldwide pandemic. Many people, about 8,000 mourners, attended his burial in Jerusalem.
