Yohei Kurakawa's Football Journey

Starting Out in Japan

Yohei Kurakawa was born in Sanyo-Onoda, Japan, on August 10, 1977. After finishing university, he joined the J1 League club Yokohama F. Marinos in 2000. He did not play any matches for them.

In 2001, he moved to a club called Gunma FC Horikoshi. This club was in a lower league. They were promoted to the Regional Leagues in 2002. Then, in 2004, they moved up to the Japan Football League. Yohei played in many games for them until 2005. He was a regular player, meaning he played almost every match.

Playing for Kashiwa Reysol

In 2006, Yohei joined Kashiwa Reysol, a club in the J2 League. He became a regular player as a right side back. His team was promoted to the top league, J1, in 2007. In 2008, Kashiwa Reysol reached the final of the Emperor's Cup, a big football tournament. They finished in second place.

From 2009, Yohei did not play as much. His team, Kashiwa Reysol, was moved down to J2 in 2010. But they quickly returned to J1 the next year. In 2011, Kashiwa Reysol won the J1 League championship! Even though he was part of the winning team, Yohei did not play many games that season.

Later Career and Retirement

In 2012, Yohei moved to another J2 club, Roasso Kumamoto. He became a regular player again as a right side back. He played many matches for them until 2016.

In 2017, he joined Suzuka Unlimited FC, a club in the Regional Leagues. He played for two more seasons. Yohei Kurakawa retired from playing football at the end of the 2018 season.

Coaching Experience

In September 2017, while still playing for Suzuka Unlimited FC, Yohei Kurakawa also became the team's manager. This means he was a "playing manager." He coached the club until the end of the 2017 season.
