To become even better, he moved to the United Kingdom in 2001 to train with Andrew Hoy, a famous equestrian. Later, in 2009, he moved to Germany. He now trains with German rider Dirk Schrade.

Yoshi has won the "Best Equestrian Athlete" award at the Japanese sports awards several times. He received this honor in 2005, 2007, and 2011. His family has a history of Olympic athletes. His aunt was an international figure skater and is now an Olympic judge. His uncle won a silver medal in swimming at the Rome Olympic Games.
