Yoshiharu Horii (堀井 美晴, born March 16, 1953) is a Japanese football player who used to play as a forward. After he stopped playing, he became a football manager.

A Star Player

Yoshiharu Horii was born in Fujieda, Japan. He started playing football when he was in high school. After graduating, he joined a team called Yanmar Diesel in 1971. This team is now known as Cerezo Osaka.

Horii played for Yanmar Diesel for a long time, until 1987. He was a forward, which means his main job was to score goals for his team. He played in 204 games and scored 46 goals during his career. He helped his team win the Japan Soccer League four times and the Emperor's Cup once.

From Player to Coach

In 1996, he moved to another team called Gamba Osaka and continued coaching until 2000. Then, in 2001, he became the manager for Kawasaki Frontale.
