Playing Career: Yoshinori Sembiki's Football Journey
Yoshinori Sembiki was born in Kitakyushu, Japan, on January 5, 1964. After finishing his studies at Kyushu Kyoritsu University, he started his professional football career in 1985. He joined a team called Yomiuri, which was part of the Japan Soccer League.
Sembiki played as a left side back, which is a defensive position on the field. In the 1986-87 season, he played in many matches for Yomiuri. During his time with Yomiuri, he helped the team win some important titles. They won the Japan Soccer League in 1986-87, the JSL Cup in 1985, and the Emperor's Cup twice, in 1986 and 1987.
In 1990, Sembiki moved to another club called NKK, where he continued to play in many games. A big change happened in Japanese football in 1992 when the old Japan Soccer League was replaced by a new league called J1 League. Sembiki then joined a J1 League club, Urawa Reds, but he didn't get to play in any matches for them.
After that, from 1993 to 1994, he played for NEC Yamagata. His last club was his local team, Fukuoka Blux, where he played in 1995. Yoshinori Sembiki decided to retire from playing football at the end of the 1995 season.
Coaching Career: From Player to Manager
After he stopped playing, Yoshinori Sembiki didn't leave the world of football. He started a new path as a coach and manager. From 1996 to 1999, he managed the youth team for Avispa Fukuoka, which was the same club he played for at the end of his career.
He also coached his old university team, Kyushu Kyoritsu University, from 2000 to 2002. In 2003, Sembiki became the manager for a professional club called Sagan Tosu. Later, in 2005, he took on another managing role for his local club, New Wave Kitakyushu. This team played in the Japanese Regional Leagues. He continued to manage them until the end of the 2006 season.
