Yōsuke Nozawa (野澤 洋輔, Nozawa Yōsuke, born November 9, 1979) is a retired Japanese football player. He played as a goalkeeper. Yōsuke Nozawa was known for his time with Albirex Niigata in Japan and Albirex Niigata Singapore in Singapore.

Yōsuke Nozawa's Football Journey

Yōsuke Nozawa was born in Shizuoka, Japan, on November 9, 1979. He started his football career with the youth team of Shimizu S-Pulse. In 1998, he joined the main team, which played in the J1 League, Japan's top football league. However, he did not get to play in any matches during his two seasons there.

Playing for Albirex Niigata

In 2000, Yōsuke Nozawa moved to Albirex Niigata, a club in the J2 League, which is Japan's second division. He did not play in 2000, but he became the main goalkeeper starting in 2001. His team, Albirex Niigata, won the J2 League championship in 2003. This win meant they were promoted to the J1 League in 2004. After 2006, he played less often as another goalkeeper, Takashi Kitano, became the main choice.

Time with Shonan Bellmare

In 2009, Yōsuke Nozawa joined Shonan Bellmare, another J2 League club. He played in every match that year, helping the team get promoted to the J1 League for the 2010 season. However, he faced a challenge in 2010 when he got a back injury. This injury caused him to lose his spot as the main goalkeeper. He could not play at all during 2011, and Yohei Nishibe took over his role.

Moving to Matsumoto Yamaga FC

In 2012, Yōsuke Nozawa moved to Matsumoto Yamaga FC. He played in many matches that year. But from 2013 onwards, his back injury continued to bother him. Because of this, he could hardly play in any games.

Success in Singapore with Albirex Niigata Singapore

In 2015, Yōsuke Nozawa made a big move to Albirex Niigata Singapore. This team plays in the S.League, Singapore's top football league. He had a very successful time there, winning many titles. In just four years with the club, he helped them win 13 different championships!

Returning to Albirex Niigata

In 2019, Yōsuke Nozawa returned to Japan. He signed with Albirex Niigata again, the club he had played for 11 years earlier. On November 24, 2019, he played his only match during this second time with the club. It was their last game of the season, and they won 2-1 against V-Varen Nagasaki. Yōsuke Nozawa announced his retirement from football on December 17, 2019.
