Young America is a small place in Indiana, United States. It's called an "unincorporated community" because it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. It's located in Cass County, within Deer Creek Township.
A Look Back: Young America's History
Young America started around 1856. It grew up near a saw mill, which is a place where logs are cut into lumber. Someone wrote "Young America" on the mill's boiler. This was meant to show how promising the new business was. The name stuck, and that's how the community got its name.
A post office opened in Young America in 1876. It served the community for many years. However, the post office closed down in 2019.
