Yousef "Joe" Sweid (born June 22, 1976) is an Arab-Israeli actor and dancer. He is known for his roles in movies and TV shows, and also for his work in theater.

Early Life and Family

Yousef Sweid was born in Haifa, Israel. He grew up in a Christian-Arab family. He studied theater at Tel Aviv University.

Yousef Sweid was married to Yael Ronen, who is a director. They had a son together. Later, they divorced. In 2018, he married Adi Shilon, a television host. They have a daughter, who was born in 2019. They live mostly in Berlin, Germany. Adi Shilon and Yousef Sweid later divorced.

Acting and Dance Career

Yousef Sweid started his acting career at the Arab-Hebrew Theater in Jaffa. He has been in many TV shows, including Dancing again tonight and Oh Brother Boom Boom, which won an award in 2003.

On stage, he performed in plays like Things you can see from here, you cannot see from there and Sea Shadow. He also took part in an international play called The Time We Did Not Know Anything About Each Other and a dance show called Barefoot. In 2001, he started leading a theater program for both Arab and Jewish people in Ramla, a city in Israel.

In 2016, Yousef Sweid appeared in one episode of the popular HBO series Game of Thrones. He played a character called a Meereenese freedman in the show's sixth season.

Yousef Sweid also helps bring a puppet named Mahboob to life on Israel's Hop! channel, which is like Sesame Street. Mahboob means "beloved" in Arabic.
