Youssef Rzouga is a famous writer and poet from Tunisia. He was born in Zorda, Tunisia, on March 21, 1957. He started writing when he was very young, in 1967. His first story, called "Something called need," was published in a magazine named Radio et Télévision in 1973.

Learning and School
Youssef Rzouga went to school in Zorda, a town near Sidi Alouane. He also studied in Ksour Essef and Sousse. He earned several important degrees, including:
- A master’s degree in journalism and information sciences.
- A diploma in the Russian language from a university in Moscow.
- A special diploma in political sciences from a university in Tunis.
- A diploma in art theories and beauty studies.
His Work as a Writer
Youssef Rzouga has had a busy career working with words. He has been an editor for several newspapers and magazines.
- From 1980 to 1982, he was an editor for the daily newspaper El-Amal.
- Between 1982 and 1987, he was the main editor for Ach’er, a poetry magazine from the Ministry of Culture.
- He worked as an editor for the daily newspaper Elhoria from 1987 to 1989.
- From 1990 to 1992, he was the chief editor of Aljil Aljadid magazine.
- Since 1989, he has been the chief editor of Warakat Thakafiya. This is a special literary section in the Tunisian daily newspaper Essahafa.
Awards and Honors
Youssef Rzouga has won many awards for his writing. He received the Tunisian Ministry of Culture award three times for his poetry books:

- In 1986, for his book The program of the rose.
- In 1999, for his book The Wolf in the Word.

- In 2003, another yearly poetry prize, "The Pen of the Poet Youssef Rzouga," started in his honor.
- In 2004, he received the Mahdia governorate prize for his book Emergency Case Declaration.
- In 2004, he won King Abdallah II’s Creativity Prize from Jordan.
