What is Yuba State Park?

The park offers many ways to enjoy the water and the land around it. It's a perfect place to visit if you love being outside and trying new things.
How Yuba Got Its Name
The name "Yuba" has an interesting story! The park got its name from the people who built the dam for the reservoir. Local farmers and ranchers had to build the dam themselves. If they didn't, they would lose their rights to the water.
The men working on the dam called it the "U.B. Dam." As they worked, they even sang a song about how hard it was. The sound of the reservoir's name eventually became "Yuba." The park was officially established on February 15, 1964.
