Yukihiko Sato (佐藤 由紀彦, Satō Yukihiko) was born on May 11, 1976. He is a famous former Japanese football player. He played as a midfielder for many teams. Today, he is an assistant coach for the J1 League club FC Tokyo.

Yukihiko Sato's Football Journey
Yukihiko Sato was born in Fuji, Japan. After finishing high school, he joined his local team, Shimizu S-Pulse, in 1995. He played as a midfielder.
Early Career and Success
In 1998, Sato moved to Montedio Yamagata. This team was part of the Japan Football League. He quickly became a key player there. He even won the "Rookie of the Year" award!
In 1999, he joined FC Tokyo. This team had just moved up to the J2 League. Sato played as a right-side midfielder. His great play helped FC Tokyo get promoted to the top league, the J1 League, in 2000. He also won the "New Hero Award" in 1999. He was a regular player until 2001.
Winning Championships
In 2003, Sato moved to Yokohama F. Marinos. He played many games as a right-side midfielder. His team won the J1 League championship two years in a row! They won in 2003 and 2004.
Later Career and Retirement
In 2005, Sato returned to his first club, Shimizu S-Pulse. However, he did not play as much there. In 2006, he moved to Kashiwa Reysol. He played many matches and helped this team get promoted to the J1 League in 2007.
In 2008, he played for Vegalta Sendai for one season. Then, in 2009, he joined V-Varen Nagasaki. He was a regular player for this team. In 2012, his team won the championship and moved up to the J2 League. Yukihiko Sato retired from playing football at the end of the 2014 season. He was 38 years old.
