Yumna Zaidi (born on July 30, 1989) is a talented Pakistani actress. She is famous for her roles in many Urdu TV shows, from serious dramas to romantic comedies. Yumna has won several important awards for her acting, including five Lux Style Awards and two Hum Awards.
She started her acting journey in 2012 with a supporting role in the TV show Thakan. Soon after, she began playing main characters in popular series like Meri Dulari and Ullu Baraye Farokht Nahi in 2013. Her role in Ullu Baraye Farokht Nahi even earned her a nomination for a Hum Award for Best Supporting Actress. Yumna became very well-known for playing a troubled wife in Rishtay Kuch Adhooray Se (2014), which led to Hum Award for Best Actress nominations. She also received praise for her work in shows like Mausam (2014), Jugnoo (2015), Zara Yaad Kar (2016), and Yeh Raha Dil (2017).

Yumna Zaidi was born in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, on July 30, 1989.
Her father, who passed away in 2019, was a numbardar. This means he was a village head responsible for collecting taxes in Muhammad Nagar, a village near Arif Wala in Punjab.
Yumna's Acting Career
Starting Her Journey (2012)
Yumna Zaidi made her first appearance on screen in 2012. She had a supporting role in the TV drama Thakan on ARY Digital. After that, she quickly got a main role in the show Khushi Ek Roag. She also appeared in Teri Raah Main Rul Gai on Urdu 1, where she played a character named Maryam.
Becoming a Star (2013–2023)
Yumna Zaidi earned a lot of praise for playing characters with strong emotions. This was seen in shows like Meri Dulari (2013) on Geo TV and Ullu Baraye Farokht Nahi (2013) on Hum TV. Her role in Ullu Baraye Farokht Nahi even got her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Hum Awards.
Her role as a troubled wife in the drama Rishtay Kuch Adhooray Se (2013) helped her become one of Pakistan's leading actresses. For this role, she was nominated for Hum Award for Best Actress and Best Actress Popular. Yumna also made a special appearance in the 2013 series Sannata. Viewers loved her chemistry with Ahmed Ali, and they were nominated for Best On-screen Couple at the Hum Awards. Later that year, she played Sila in Dar Si Jaati Hai Sila. A critic from The News International praised her, saying she played her role "effortlessly" and made it "believable."
From 2018 to 2019, she appeared in Pukaar as Samra. She also worked on Dil Kiya Karey, directed by Mehreen Jabbar. Yumna played Hajra in the drama Inkaar alongside Imran Ashraf and Sami Khan. She also made a special appearance in the series Choti Choti Batain and had a cameo in Ishq Zahe Naseeb. She also appeared as Raina in the telefilm Shaadi Impossible.
Stepping into Films (2024)
Yumna Zaidi made her first movie appearance in Nayab (2024). In this film, she played the main character, an aspiring cricketer. While the film itself did not do very well, Yumna continues to be a prominent actress in television.
Other Activities
Yumna Zaidi enjoys writing poetry, especially Sufi poetry. She has even recited her poems on social media. She has also walked the ramp as a model for designer Aisha Farid's collection at Hum TV's Bridal Couture Week. In 2017, she appeared on the celebrity comedy talk show Mazaaq Raat.
In 2016, when the show Udaari faced some issues, Yumna supported it. She said that such dramas are important because they help create awareness about social issues in society.
