Yusuke Tasaka (田坂 祐介, Tasaka Yusuke, born 8 July 1985) is a Japanese football player. He plays as a midfielder, which means he helps both attack and defense on the field.

Yusuke Tasaka's Football Journey

Early Days in Hiroshima

Yusuke Tasaka was born in Hiroshima, Japan, on July 8, 1985. He started his football journey with his hometown team, Sanfrecce Hiroshima. He played in their youth academy teams. In 2003, he helped his team win the J-League Youth Cup. Some of his teammates then were Yojiro Takahagi and Issei Takayanagi.

After finishing high school, Yusuke had a chance to join the main Sanfrecce Hiroshima team. However, he decided to continue his education. He chose to study and play football at Aoyama Gakuin University.

Playing for Kawasaki Frontale

After finishing university, Yusuke Tasaka joined Kawasaki Frontale in 2007. He was given the jersey number 6. He played his first game in the J-League on September 23, 2007. This game was a 4–0 loss against Kashiwa Reysol. He played for Kawasaki Frontale until 2012. During his time there, he played in 105 league games and scored 11 goals.

Adventure in Germany

On July 24, 2012, Yusuke Tasaka moved to Germany. He signed with VfL Bochum, a team in the 2. Bundesliga, which is Germany's second-highest football league. He made his first appearance for Bochum on August 12, 2012. This game was against Dynamo Dresden. He played 81 league games for VfL Bochum and scored 9 goals before returning to Japan.

Back to Kawasaki Frontale

In 2015, Yusuke Tasaka returned to Kawasaki Frontale. He continued to play a key role for the team. During this second period, he helped Kawasaki Frontale win the J1 League title twice. They won in 2017 and again in 2018. These were big achievements for the club and for Yusuke. He played 51 more league games and scored 4 goals in his second spell.

Final Years and Retirement

After his second time at Kawasaki Frontale, Yusuke Tasaka joined JEF United Chiba in 2019. He played 18 games for them. He retired from professional football in 2020. Throughout his career, Yusuke Tasaka was known as a hardworking midfielder. He helped his teams both in Japan and Germany.
