Early Life and Beginnings

Yvonne Monlaur was born in Paris, France. Her father, Pierre Bédat de Monlaur, was a poet. Her mother was a ballet dancer. When Yvonne was a child, she studied ballet, just like her mom. As a teenager, she also worked as a fashion model.

First Films and Horror Roles

In 1958, Yvonne appeared in an Italian film called Three Strangers in Rome. This was one of the first movies for another famous actress, Claudia Cardinale.

In 1960, Yvonne starred in the horror film Circus of Horrors. She acted alongside well-known British actors like Anton Diffring and Donald Pleasence. That same year, she also appeared in a Hammer horror film. This movie was called The Brides of Dracula. In it, she worked with famous actors such as Peter Cushing and Freda Jackson. She also acted with Christopher Lee in The Terror of the Tongs in 1961.

Almost a Bond Girl
