Where the Záncara River Starts
The Záncara river begins near a village called Abia de la Obispalía. This village is west of Cuenca city. The area where it starts is part of the Iberian System mountains. The river's source is about 1,020 meters (3,346 feet) above sea level.
The River's Journey
From its source, the Záncara river flows towards the southwest. It passes by towns like Socuéllamos. As it travels, other smaller rivers join it. These are its main tributaries.
Main Tributaries
- The Rus river
- The Saona river
- The Córcoles river
These rivers add their water to the Záncara, making it bigger.
Where the Záncara Ends
The Záncara river flows into the Cigüela river. This happens on the left side of the Cigüela. The meeting point is near a place called the Ojos del Guadiana. This area is in the Villarrubia de los Ojos municipality.
Some people have different ideas about which river flows into which. They might say the Cigüela flows into the Záncara. But usually, it is thought that the Záncara joins the Cigüela. The Cigüela then goes on to join the Guadiana river. The Záncara river ends its journey about 630 meters (2,067 feet) above sea level.
