The Zújar is a long river located in Spain. It flows for about 214 kilometers (133 miles). It is the largest river that joins the Guadiana River from its left side.
Where the Zújar River Flows
The Zújar River starts its journey high up in the mountains. Its source, or starting point, is at a place called La Calaveruela hill. This hill is part of the Sierra Morena mountain range, close to a town named Fuente Obejuna.
As the river flows, it crosses different parts of Spain. It goes through the northwestern area of Córdoba Province. Then, it continues its path through regions known as Campiña Sur and La Serena in Extremadura.
Finally, the Zújar River reaches its end. It flows into the Guadiana River at a large water storage area called the Embalse de La Serena reservoir. This reservoir is near the town of Villanueva de la Serena.
