Zacardi Renye Louis Cortez, born on September 17, 1985, is an American gospel and Christian singer. He began his music career in 2012. His first album, The Introduction, was released by Blacksmoke Records. His second album, REloaded, came out in 2014 from WorldWide Records. Both albums were successful and appeared on the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart. His first album did especially well, also charting on the Billboard 200, Independent Albums, and R&B Albums charts.
Early Life and Music Start
Zacardi Cortez was born in Houston, Texas, on September 17, 1985. From a young age, he was inspired by John P. Kee, a famous gospel musician. John P. Kee became Zacardi's mentor in music and faith. They even toured together. In 2005, Zacardi was featured on John P. Kee's album, Live at the Fellowship.
After this, Zacardi joined James Fortune's band, FIYA. He was a guest on their album The Transformation, which was released in 2007. These early experiences helped him grow as a singer.
Zacardi's Music Journey
Zacardi Cortez officially started his solo music career in 2012. His first album, The Introduction, was released on May 22, 2012. This album was a big hit! It reached number 73 on the overall Billboard 200 chart. It also climbed to number 2 on the Gospel Albums chart. Plus, it hit number 16 on the Independent Albums chart and number 8 on the R&B Albums chart.
In 2014, he released his second album, REloaded. This album also did well on the Gospel Albums chart, reaching number 10. Zacardi has also worked with other artists. For example, he sang on the song "It's You (A Love Song)" by Cheneta Jones.
