Cheneta Jones was born in St. Louis, Missouri. She started her music career at just sixteen years old. Her first experience was singing background vocals for the famous gospel artist Tye Tribbett.
At one point, Cheneta was part of an R&B music group. However, she decided to leave that group. She wanted to focus more on her faith and ministry through music. This led her to become an urban contemporary gospel artist, sharing uplifting messages through her songs.
