Zachary Zarba, born on April 28, 1975, is a professional basketball referee. He works in the National Basketball Association (NBA) in the United States. A referee's job is to make sure players follow the rules during a game.

Zach has been an NBA referee since 2004. He has worked over 1,180 regular-season games. He has also refereed more than 130 playoff games. This includes 11 games in the exciting NBA Finals. In 2016, he was also chosen to officiate the NBA All-Star Game. He used to wear uniform number 58, then 28, and now wears number 15.

Zachary Zarba was born in Brooklyn, New York. He went to public schools there, including Midwood High School. Before joining the NBA, Zach gained lots of experience.

Early Refereeing Career

Zach worked as a referee in the NBA Development League for two years. This league is now called the NBA G League. He was part of the team that refereed the 2003 D-League Finals. He also spent time officiating in other basketball leagues. These included the CBA for one year and the IBL for two years.

College Basketball Experience

Zach also refereed college basketball games for three years. He worked in many different college conferences. These included the ACC, SEC, and Colonial conferences. He also spent three years refereeing high school games in New York.

Education and Community Work

Zach Zarba went to the State University of New York at New Paltz. He played on the basketball team there. In his final year, he was the team captain. He earned a degree in Political Science. Today, Zach helps out in his community. He does public service work for EBC High School in Bushwick, Brooklyn.

Zach Zarba is married to Christiane. They have two children together.
